We’ve got quadcopters and burrito bombers and horrifying, flying hexapods so really, what other kind of new remote-control robot is left to think of? How about a watermelon boat? Never thought of that, right? If you have, seriously, what is going on in your head all day?

The watermelon boat you see here is a fairly simple contraption constructed out of the hollow fruit and a re-purposed airplane propeller. And while it’s hard to imagine any sort of purpose for such a craft, it seems to get around fairly well. According to the video’s description, it ultimately capsized and began to billow smoke—a fitting end for any fruit-vessel—but unfortunately that part was not caught on video. Even so, she was surely the finest vessel to ever sail the seven seeds. [Youtube]
