Will Microsoft's Major Announcement Be a Xbox Surface Tablet?

Microsoft is announcing something today and no one has any idea what it will be. Barnes and Noble officially said that they have nothing to do with whatever is happening today so the rumor mound is eagerly hopping to the next rumor: a Xbox Surface tablet. It's a 7-inch tablet that's probably going to play nice with an Xbox.

Supposedly, the leaked specs of the Xbox Surface, which come from Shifted2u, show a 7-inch 1280 x 720 tablet device with multitouch and ARM processor that can connect to a "stationary computing device" to presumably stream stuff to and fro. So would that make the Xbox Surface a glorified Xbox controller or some sort of Microsoft hardware for its Smart Glass technology or just a Microsoft-made tablet that shares more Surface features than Xbox gaming qualities? Or is that all the same thing? No one knows.

Anyway, we'll find out what Microsoft has up its sleeve soon enough. The top secret event is supposed to start at 6:30 PM EDT. Stay tuned. [Shifted2u via CNET]

I can tell you one very simple reason why this is completely fake. The Microsoft logo in the top right of the page violates the company guidelines for spacing, namely that the logo must be one "M" height from everything else around it. The distance from the top of the page to the logo is too small.
