Writer Gary Whitta worked on the screenplay for Rogue One. He’s written episodes of Star Wars Rebels and contributed to a Star Wars book. Now, with the news he’s writing a new comic, he’ll have written official Star Wars stories in four different mediums.

Marvel Comics just announced that Whitta is writing Marvel’s comic book adaptation of The Last Jedi, which will feature art by Michael Walsh and Mike Spencer, with covers by Mike Del Mundo.

The first issue of the six-issue series will be out on May 2 with the next one on May 16. It will reportedly be “adding scenes and telling others from a new perspective,” according to Walsh.

Also, Entertainment Weekly has this exclusive variant cover of the first issue by former Marvel editor-in-chief Joe Queseda.

It’s a pretty impressive line-up and, for Whitta, the awesomeness of writing this comic and so many other Star Wars stories isn’t lost on him.

Gotta get him working on a Star Wars video game or some VR next, to cover all the mediums.
