Bit of a muddle in Europe as the Xbox 360 sells out within hours of its launch. In the UK, more than 200 geeks, I mean gamers, waited on line for the midnight launch at the Xbox flagship store at London’s Oxford Street. But most got up bright and early this morning to hit stores, only to find that some had as few as four machines in stock.
“It is unlikely that we will have any fresh product for a couple of weeks. Hopefully we will have some in store before Christmas that people can buy,” said a HMV spokesperson.
But of course, what’s bad for eager gamers is good for nasty entrepreneurs, who have flooded eBay with up to 1500 consoles going for insanely high prices (around $1000).
