Just when businessmen and women were getting used to BlackBerry's SureType split-key keyboards, RIM has to go and patent yet another method of inputting text. As you can see in the drawing, this guy's horribly misshapen thumbs are hammering away on angular keys, which actually seems pretty brilliant to us. Remember Microsoft and their ergonomic split-key angular keyboards? This is that, but smaller. We like what we see, sir. [Cellpassion via MobileWhack]

the actual sims good because a persons thumbs arent straight when using these devices anyway they are angular just like the keys sort of.
@utube2007: actual seems good
Could Giz gift me one of these?
This seems like a true innovation for once instead of all the gimicky crap that has been coming out lately. Let's hope its as good as it seems.
it would be a lot better if the keys were in a more rounded layout i think
@utube2007: or "this actually seems good"?
yeah, and you see all those other numbers that aim to patent all matter of things across the device? Do they really think there are that many unique 'inventions' on this one device?
ridiculous
This seems more of an aesthetic change, than a functional one. Ergonomic keyboards are shaped at an angle since it's comfortable for arms. This angular layout doesn't change anything as the thumbs would travel generally the same amount of distance as a more generic layout.
Still better than the type of keyboard the Pearl uses, though!
Dumb. I've used a few phones with angular keys and they are maddening. Just more gadgetry in a feeble attempt to appear cutting edge.
