All you business fools who've been waiting for Windows Mobile 6.1 can all relax. It's here. And it's supporting all kinds of jibba jabba technologies like a new Internet Explorer Mobile with IE6 tech and h.264, Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight support. There's also even more stuff for your I.T. crew (I put the T in I.T.) such as better System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008 (only the suckas at Microsoft would name a product like this) and Exchange Server 2007 SP1 support. And here's a big list of new and old phones that are getting the update:
• Mobile operators:
- Alltel Wireless: HTC PPC6800, HTC Touch
- AT&T: Samsung BlackJack II, MOTO Q 9h global, Pantech duo, AT&T Tilt by HTC
- Sprint: A new Palm Treo and updates for the Mogul by HTC, Touch by HTC, MOTO Q 9c, Samsung ACE
- T-Mobile International: T-Mobile MDA Ameo 16 GB, T-Mobile MDA compact IV
• Device-makers:
- ASUS: New phones including the P320, ZX1, P560, M536 and updates for the P527, P750, M930
- HTC: A new Touch Dual for the U.S. and updates for the AT&T Tilt, Touch by HTC, Mogul by HTC from Sprint, TyTN II
- i-mate: 8502, 9502, 8150, 6150
- Intermec: CN3
- Motorola: MOTO Q 9c, MOTO Q 9h global, MC70, MC9000
- Pantech: Pantech duo
- Samsung: BlackJack II
- Toshiba: Portégé G810,Portégé G910

Oh man I totally hope T-Mo gets that new Touch Dual. That's the phone I've been wanting but the import price is just a little much for me these days...
But how does Mr. T feel about this??
what no T-Mobile Wing?
(not that i care because the 3rd party touch software i have on here from xda-developers is way better)
Not a tremendous surprise, but no supported devices at all from VZW?
I shed a tear when I saw no Mr. T.
What's the T-angle here?
@dwight-schrute: We've been relegated to the off-hand "jibba-jabba," and "suckas" at this point. Even Giz is sick of their own schtick now.
Verizon's not even on the list, and despite the inclusion of the Q9C and Q9H, Q9M doesn't seem to be getting the update. That happens to be my phone, so I'm a little peeved. Verizon has consistently screwed its customers by not signing in for updates.
Mr T dont like that new fangled jibba jabba that leaves out his BlackJack! I pitty the fools who cross me like a sneeky russian.
@dwight-schrute: I was thinking the same thing. No love for my Samsung i760. :( At least the xv6700 and xv6800 support custom roms. Samsung really screws people that want to customize their phones beyond the standard programs and settings.
The "T" angle shoulf be Mr.T in that green open space saying "Without the T, it's just Blueooh" or maybe "It aint Bluetooth without the T!"
So when/how do we get this update if our phone was included? I'm new to the whole "phones with any features" game...
Yes, all very interesting. Anyone here know how to code an April fool's day cell phone virus that will change all the pink razor's ring tones to fart noises and vibration?
@Chowday:
You have to wait for your provider to provide a ROM update, or visit XDA to apply a cooked ROM.
@pwaggs: Ahh...wonder how long that will take Sprint.
I was hoping this update would fix the constant WM6 application crashes with my Samsung i760, but apparently I'm SOL. I hope there's at least a way to load Android onto this phone whenever it comes out.
If I were on Sprint I wouldn't hold my breath, I received no notification they rolled out for an update for WM5 (back when I was on that awful mobile OS on the even more evilly thick PPC-6700 and useless) I ended up finding out through a friend who found out through some incredibly convoluted way there was a release.
It looks the same as WM5 to me besides the Calibri font and and glossy skin. Windows has Exchange and the syncing side down, please work on something useful like the UI.
So is this just going to go through the Windows Update on the phone? Assuming you have one of the lucky phones above.
I definitely want this on my AT&T 8525 (TyTN II).
My custom WM6 is awesome... I just hope the HTC Home plugins still work. Is there an expected date for release?
Why no love for T-mobile USA? That's where WM6 started, I need this for my shadow dammit!
Please post the URL for the upgrade for AT&T Tilt, if and when you see it.
You guys beat me to it but oh well. Here you go

I'm running this on my T-Mobile Dash now - much better than 6.0. Get it at XDA-Developers....
@jspeed04:
Ditto.
Damn it. Needs more HTC Titan support..
Dang, and I just rebuilt the kitchen ROM on my 6700. Well, at least it will be easier once this new OS gets ported for us..
@tobedetermined:
www.XDA-Developers.com
Dutty's 6.1 ROM is the shiznit
No support for Verizon devices... I wish Mr.T would go slap some sense into thos foos
or perhaps I should slap myself for signing a contract w/ VzW ???
@sp00nix: The 6.1 for BlackJack 1 can be found here: [www.txcaesar.net] ;-]
