damn...i wanted to stay till after the credits but my friends had to go and i was getting a lift with them... that was 6 hours ago. >:|

I didn't see it but I was pretty sure thats where it was going to be.

There were rumors about that for a long time and when he wasn't in the earlier Shield stuff I was pretty sure it was going to be an after the credits type thing.

Heh, yeah I finished watching the film about an hour ago and found this out for myself.

The movie was probably the best Marvel comics movie to date. Funny, smart, great action and a super cast. The scene after the credits wasn't worth staying for though. Won't give it away, but I could have waited to see that on the DVD. It just really seemed like it was added as an after thought.

Oh, yeah! This movie ROCKED!!

First things first... IRON MAN IS THE MOST PERFECT MARVEL SUPERHERO MOVIE TO DATE!!! I MEAN PERFECT!!! I MEAN AWESOME!!! If you like comic books and cool action movies, go see this, and you CAN still leave your brain on. ITS THAT FUCKING GOOD!!!

So, anyway i'm bummed i didnt stay to see after the credits and i dont want to spoil it by watching a shaky cam vid. I knew there was a reason that chinese guy was waiting in the row behind me.
Now i have to go see the movie again.....YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS PLEEEEEEASE!!!! :)

Alright, I just got back and waited through the credits - and it was cool. BUT, is that not ASININE!! that they make you wait through ALL of the FREAKING credits? Who cares who the drivers were, or the caterer, or the ... Why couldn't they play credits on one side and 2 min into the credits play the preview on the other side?

i saw this post about half an hour before i left to see the movie so i convinced my friends to stay through the credits. i wish i had followed iron man when i was younger so that i could understand what i saw.

The theater we saw it in actually cut off the credits after about two minutes in. Thankfully we were able to complain and get them to turn them back on so we didn't miss the extra -- well worth it.

C'mon - who is silly enough to go see a big blockbuster comic book movie type movie these days and NOT expect to have a scene post credits? X-Men 3 had one, one of the Harry Potter movies had one, last year's Transformers had one, the list goes on and on if you care to Google it.

I usually sit through most of the credits anyways, just to let the theater clear, why the big rush to stand-up and crawl out with the herd anyways?

Yeah, it's annoying to have to sit through the credits, but no one is making you do it. It is important to all those drivers, gaffers, caterers, assistants, fx guys, foley artists, etc, etc, that you sit through them, though. They're proud of their involvement in the film, and interestingly, in Hollywood, if your name doesn't appear on the credits, you can not use the film as a work reference. This is why credits have gone from 15 seconds back in the 40's to 3 or more minutes now.

I frequently get to see movies at the Director's Guild or Academy theaters and don't you dare get up and try to leave before the credits stop rolling, it's considered very very rude, though more and more people are starting to do it.

Ummm the added scene is nice.....except for the face that there not even making an avenger movie. Got droped like 2 weeks ago. 'Nother Iron Man (SWEET!!!) but the added scene is now pointless =(

Ok, not to spoil anything, but you have to be a bigger comic book fan boy than me (which isn't a hard thing to do) to thing the final scene is that great.

There was a kid at our showing who, before the previews started, yelled out, "You have to stay until the end of the credits!"

And don't tell me I'm the only one who got choked up when the Indiana Jones trailer came on.
