Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 480M is the steroidal notebook graphics card you’ve been waiting for (if you’re a huge nerd): The world’s fastest notebook GPU according to Nvidia, it’s the first mobile chip using Nvidia’s ridiculous Fermi architecture.

The hard specs, for the numbers-inclined: 352 CUDA cores running at 897 gigaflops, 850MHz processor speed, 1.2GHz memory, and yes, you can bolt two of them together for some SLI action (if your notebook is powered by a nuclear reactor). We’ll have to wait a tick to get some benchmarks—until there are notebooks with the 480M inside—but they should be, um, zippy. [Nvidia, Nvidia]
