There’s no doubt that Kinect has been a huge hit for Microsoft. What was unexpected (to Microsoft, at least) was all the tinkering and hacking that’s been done with Kinect. In this video, Microsoft demonstrates what Kinect will be able to do in the future.
Note that the “depictions are visionary” so there isn’t real life implications just yet but the video shows Microsoft’s belief in the Kinect—that it stretches beyond the Xbox—and what it means for Microsoft’s vision of the future. If you didn’t know (or maybe you just forgot), Microsoft can still make awesome stuff. If they keep it up, maybe we can thank them for giving us the Minority Report-style future we’ve always wanted.
