Aspen? The Swiss Alps? The Himalayas? No. Much, much farther away.
It’s Mars, a small bit of the Mojave Crater, on the Xanthe Terra region, as imaged by the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera on NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. That crater is 37 miles in diameters. And that slope is 2.6 miles long.
