W.W. Jacobs’ short story “The Monkey’s Paw” is a classic tale of “Be careful what you wish for.” The short film The Umbrella Factory takes the monkey’s paw concept to tell a slightly different — but still chilling — tale of three brothers who have an ill-fated meeting with a mysterious traveler.
Lexie Findarle Trivundza and Nick Trivundza of the studio Naissance made this adaptation of “The Monkey’s Paw.” The visuals seem simple at first, but they work perfectly as the short hits its violent climax and its final, truly horrifying moments.
