With less than three months before Wildwood is out, Laika’s got another look at the film to show you. Not a trailer, though, it’s a featurette that shows Laika’s process for crafting its latest film.

Over stirring music and dialogue from the film, we watch for nearly two-and-a-half minutes as the studio’s crew builds out the stop-motion world in perfect detail. Some of the film’s environments and characters get their first reveal here, including an armored woman on horseback and a forest setting full of bird houses high up in the tree. The snippets of dialogue that play during these moments tease out Wildwood’s scope, and get you in the right mindset of being as awed and drawn into the world as the characters are.

From seeing the sets get constructed (and carted around) to the figures moving on a timeline, it’s really something to watch this all come together. Laika previously bragged about Wildwood being made by real humans, and the video description notes the studio’s spent over a decade “shaping [the film’s] world through meticulous craftsmanship, innovative animation, and boundless creativity.”

That hard work and the process clearly shows in the video above, and it’s part of what makes Wildwood a movie we’re looking forward to when it hits theaters on October 23.
