If you are looking for a brief and cheerful story to brighten your day, check out this comic by Madeline Heckman. It follows a robot girl who starts off at a new school afraid she won’t make any friends. Fortunately, she’s in for a surprise.
Heckman made LIKE LIKE!, which you can read in two parts (Part One and Part Two), as her thesis project. It’s a simple and straightforward comic, but it’s lovely to watch new girl Raina find a new friend after all her anxiety — a friend who revels in her differences and wants to find things they both can enjoy.
