POLIS is one of those short films that's a wonderfully intriguing proof-of-concept, but leaves us wanting more. In this VFX- and action-filled short, a telepath is held prisoner in a government facility while technicians prod his brain in search of his mother. And fortunately, it's on its way to becoming a feature film.

POLIS was written by Daniel Perea and directed by Steven Ilous, with a VFX team led by Maxx Burman. POLIS won the Defy Media and New Regency Prototype competition, meaning that the filmmakers are getting the opportunity to develop their short as a feature film. Our protagonist is living in a supposedly utopian society, but his mother knows something of the world's dark secrets. That's why the government is out to find her, hoping they can use the young telepath's brain to point the way.
