Remember those public service announcements that used to run on television all the time in the ’80s and ’90s? “Stay away from downed power lines! Don’t even get near them! They make look harmless, but they’ll flash-boil your brain right inside your skull!”
Those PSAs are fun to mock (looking at you, G.I. Joe), but you guys, power lines are SERIOUS BUSINESS. This video – which features electrical workers, who appear to be outfitted with insulated gloves and sleeves, flirting with live, high-voltage cables – illustrates why.
