TC's Alexia Tsotsis says the event "will not involve any hardware at all and instead will focus on publishing and eBooks (sold through Apple's iBooks platform)" and be "industry-oriented." This sounds rather dull, but could potentially mean new publisher deals and a wider library to choose from. We'll see! [TechCrunch]
My interest in ebooks has plateaued, because publishers are dickbutts. Fine and good to get novels and all that, but textbooks are still wallet molestingly expensive, and to add insult to injury, can be a bit of a craps shoot with accessibility/usability (the Business Law Kindle book only worked on the Kindle reader software, not the actual Kindle device. What the fuck). I'd love to see some changes come to that market.
