Band of Skulls Shows Us What It's Like to Be a Stripper

Band of Skulls just released their latest music video, and boy, is it eye-catching. The basic premise involves following an exotic dancer through her day, except in reverse. And the song is pretty fun, too!

From their new album Himalayan, "Hoochie Coochie" is a kinetic, classic-sounding rock song built out of power cords and bumping drums. It sounds a little bit like Heart's "Barracuda" and Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" had a long-haired baby who likes to dance. Matching the song with the dramatic lights and flying cash makes good, sinful sense.

This is obviously not the first time we've seen the dressing room of a strip club or the many mundane things strippers do when they're not dancing. VICE just made a (controversial) documentary called "Life as a Truck-Stop Stripper." Then, of course, there's Diablo Cody's memoir, Candy Girl: A Year in the Life of an Unlikely Stripper. And who could forget that Demi Moore movie from the 90s? But honestly, being a stripper isn't terribly different from being an office worker or a waiter or a park ranger. The scenery is different, sure, but you still clock in, work, clock out, drive home, and watch Netflix. Just like the rest of us.

I'm getting super Sparks vibes from the vocals.
