Building the Sword of Artorias Is No Small Task For Man At Arms

We’ve really appreciated the level of detail that the guys behind Man at Arms: Reforged puts into their creations. The blacksmiths have gone and done some really impressive work with their latest creation, the Great Sword of Artorias from Dark Souls III.

To put the work here in perspective, go back three years to when Tony was by himself putting together a Batarang from Batman Begins. Not only has the video gone much longer, but the complexity of this build is magnitudes more complicated.

This is an enormously complicated weapon, and seeing these guys put one together is really incredible - in size, detail and scale.

I realise Roger Darksoul is wielding it one-handed in the game, but it should still have a longer handle, for balance and for two handed wielding, especially as it lacks the unsharpened, grabbable length of the blade in front of the cross piece that you’d find on a Zweihaender.

I realise that this is a sword from a game and is in no way intended to be a practical weapon, but they do seem to have made the handle shorter than the game version and therefore made an even less practical version of an impractical thing.
