Cablevision, Time Warner and Comcast Open Their Wi-Fi Hotspots to Each Other's Customers

Well, this is awesome news for Cablevision, Time Warner and Comcast customers. If you live in the NY/NJ/CT area, the three companies have just announced a Wi-Fi roaming agreement that opens all of their Wi-Fi networks to each other's customers.

That means that if you're a Cablevision customer and are in an area where Time Warner has a hotspot, you can jump on it. And the authentication for this deal already kicked in today, so if you're out and about, you can take advantage right now.

Man, I almost don't even know how to write a post about cable providers actually doing something that is 100% beneficial for their customers and doesn't somehow screw them over, let alone three of the big guys at the same time. I'm...scared. Somebody hold me. [Boy Genius]
