Carnival Cruise Lines will be introducing complete cellphone service on their cruises throughout the world. The ships will use a high-bandwidth technology that is compatible with any cellphone and allow for calls to be made anywhere in the world. There is no need for additional software or hardware for the cellphones; just turn the baby on and let all of your friends and family know how rich you are and how amazing the cruise ship is. This service is provided by Wireless Maritime Services.
Carnival is debatably one of the more popular cruise lines so this is definitely a good step forward for them. Currently the service is only available on the Carnival ship Triumph, but they are planning to have all 21 of their ships equipped with the WMS cellphone service as early as next year.
