Casio has just announced the release of the EX-Z1000, the newest member to its Exilim line of digital cameras. By far, the biggest attraction here is the camera's wide, 2.8-inch LCD viewer that has 230,400 pixels, more than enough to capture life's precious (or embarrassing) moments. For such a diminutive size, the camera has some pretty decent optics under the hood. Users can look forward to putting the camera's 10.1 "effective" megapixels to use, which is thanks to a 1/1.8-inch CCD. And for those of you who complain that a camera never has both decent optics and decent image processing, rest assured that the camera's image processing appears to have been more than just a last-minute job. As an added bonus, the camera can capture movies at normal VGA resolution (that's 640x480, for the uninitiated) at 25 frames per second.
