The Mars Curiosity Rover landing is kind of a big deal. There are going to be seven terrifying minutes as the $2.6 billion vehicle executes its wildly complicated descent to the surface. Can you think of a better reason for a party?

If you're lucky enough to live in New York City, the Mars Rover's landing will be broadcast in Times Square starting at 11:30 PM on Sunday. But if that's a bit far for you, the are plenty of parties to be had, and NASA has been kind enough to plot them all on a map for you.

At a glance, there seems to be something going on in just about every U.S. state, more in Europe, and even something in Iran. You owe it to yourself to at least take a look and see what the nearest one is. You can find a handy alphabetized list of landing parties at Google Maps, or take a look at NASA's list of general Mars-related events plotted out on a map. Let's just hope the landing goes off without a hitch, then we'll really have a reason to party. [NASA via Reddit]
