You know this and we know this: Blogs post information so quickly that sometimes it isn’t all true. When that happens, we’ve always updated posts. Sometimes that’s enough. Sometimes, we’ll run the updates in a correction post. Here are a few stories that need to be cleaned up.
First, the HP special edition Maybach laptop we posted about on the Second of April was an April fools joke. No other than Giz Friend, Rahul Sood of HP/Voodoo, confirms this.

Secondly, the story about the iPod that took a round from an AK-47 to protect its owner, a US Army infantryman, is likely false. That’s according to Confederate Yankee, someone who presumably knows a lot about guns, and who I don’t want to get angry. What’s more, he has confirm from US mil. Public Affairs in Iraq who also don’t know jack about this story. We’ll see about this one, but for now, it’s in doubt that an iPod’s plastic and aluminum could stop an AK-47 round.
