Crazy Basketball Team Uses a Crazier Amusement Park Robot for Practice

Basketball practices are pretty standard: shooting drills, defensive slides, three-man weave, suicides, 17s, rebounding, running plays, etc. Not for the French though, those weirdos are using an amusement park ride/giant robot to twirl them in the air to catch passes.

Just watch the video, it’s ridiculous. The players strap themselves to the ride, the coach is at the ride’s controls and they’re tossed and turned in the air. All the while, teammates are off dribbling to the side and throwing them the ball to catch. It’s supposed to be some sort of shock treatment to improve their “spatial orientation, balance and poise”. Right on!

I would say the French know nothing about basketball but Tony Parker would beg to differ so I’ll just say that the French are effing looney. [Engadget]
