Do not film dinosaurs with cell phones — as you can see in this picture, they will eat mobiles. At the Los Angeles Natural History Museum, everyone is menaced by giant, semi-animatronic dino puppets who roam the floors and turn the exhibits into something that’s almost as realistic as an episode of Primeval. Apparently, one of the unintended consequences of having cool dino puppets in your museum is that they cause kids to have meltdowns on video. All in the name of learning about natural history, of course.

The exhibit is part of the “Dinosaur Encounters” program that is free with the price of a ticket. This is what we’ve got to work with until we genetically-engineer some real dinos Jurassic Park style.
The shows are currently on break until September 23, but when they start up again they will be from Wednesday through Friday 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM and Saturday through Sunday, 11:30 AM., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. Where have the dinosaurs gone until the 23, my guess is back to the spaceship that brought them here:
