Don’t Look at My 25 Most Played on iTunes. Ever.

The same reason I don’t want you to see my 25 most played songs on iTunes is the same reason I don’t push Spotify updates to Facebook. You would find that I’ve listened to Britney Spears’ “Til the World Ends” a total of 72 times. It’s a great dance track, ok?

Comedian and Parks and Recreation writer Chelsea Peretti gets it. We all want to maintain the illusion that we’re a little bit more hip and cutting edge than we really are. I’m going to be honest. I’m not. I love Rihanna. I worship Beyonce. I listen to Waka Flocka Flame and Three 6 Mafia incessantly. I love shitty rap music and cheesy pop songs. Though surprisingly, my number one track—LCD Soundsystem’s “Dance Yrself Clean”—is actually not at all embarrassing, I really don’t want to share my top tracks with anyone. And I imagine many of you can relate.
