You'd expect a portable keyboard with a 5-inch LCD thrown in to have a better battery life than the average low-end netbook, but ASUS has revealed the full, final specs of the EeeKeyboard, which will sell for $599.
Amazon is still listing it up for pre-order, so while it was meant to be shipping last week there's still more time to kill between now and when it thumps on your doorstep. But another week or two won't harm you—after all, you've been waiting well over a year now.
Full final specs, as confirmed by ASUS, are as follows: 5-inch 800 x 380 multitouch LED-backlit display, runs on an Intel Atom N270 processor with 945GSE/ICH7-M flavors, there's 1GB of DDR2 RAM, and your choice of 16GB or 32GB SSD. Wi-Fi is listed as 802.11b/b/n, and it's also able to connect via Bluetooth 2.1 and ultra wideband—flashy, but there's still not many devices that use it yet.
The EeeKeyboard runs Windows XP, and in addition to the two speakers, inbuilt mic, 3x USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output, and VGA, there's also an Ethernet port for connectivity. Battery life? The aforementioned four hours. None too impressive on that front, considering the fact it's just a keyboard-with-a-netbook's-innards. [ASUS via Tom's Hardware via CrunchGear]
