Elvis Presley: Blue Christmas

It's hard to believe that it's almost Christmas! But those kids making snow angels and that smell of fresh gingerbread wafting from the bakery down the street don't lie. And when it's Christmastime, that means it's time for Christmas music. Like one of my absolute favorites: Elvis Presley's version of Blue Christmas.

The video above comes from Elvis's December 3, 1968 "Comeback Special" on NBC, though I'm not sure what he was coming back from. The King never went away! Amirite! LOL! But seriously, Elvis is alive. I'm not even joking, you can look it up.

It's that special time of year when we all take a step back and remember the things that we value most. Like Christmas music! So go ahead and share your favorite Christmas tunes in the comments below. Happy Christmas everybody!

Welcome to Soundtrack, what Gizmodo's staff are listening to every night.

Because I don't have only 1 favorite, here is another of my favorites. When Schubert meets soul, the combination is fantastic in my opinion and shows how universal classic music is.

While not truly a Christmas song, it always reminds me of Christmas because it was played in my house during Christmas. Here is the English translation if you didn't know:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women,

and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

pray for us sinners,

now and in the hour of our death. Amen.

I'm agnostic, but still celebrate Christmas because of the sentiment around the holiday.
