There must be a bazillion USB gadgets by now, and somehow they never get old. Add to the ever-growing list this new EverFast USB Stick Battery Charger. It charges NiMH batteries, which are a decent eco-friendly alternative to those alkalines you are despoiling the earth with. The charger is available in AA and AAA versions, as well as single, double, and quadruple slot variations. This sounds pretty handy for travel, since most hotel rooms only have so many open outlets. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be available for sale, and is only offered as a promotional product. Which is just as well —if I had any more USB gadgets, I’d have to turn my office desk into one giant USB hub.
