Japanese mobile giant NTT DoCoMo announced on the 9th that the next generation of FOMA 3G handsets will be getting Adobe Reader LE for viewing PDF files while on the go. I can see where the vectored fonts and graphics of a PDF file would come in handy for mobile phones, particularly for viewing large documents on a small screen. Given some of the other recent announcements we’ve heard about Japanese mobile phones, PDFs combined with something like RFID tags could make some powerful applications.
