Tim Burton was originally going to helm a third Batman movie after Batman Returns, but the studio bumped him from the director’s chair in favor of Batman Forever director Joel Schumacher. But this concept art gives us one possible look for Burton’s version of Robin.
Originally, Burton had intended to debut Robin in Batman Returns, and Marlon Wayans was cast in the role. After Schumacher came on board, the role of both Batman and Robin were recast, so Chris O’ Donnell became our on-screen Robin. The concept art below was apparently created by Bob Ringwood, and although it doesn’t look like Wayans in the suit, it’s one possible idea for the suit itself.
