During a Q&A session, HP CEO Léo Apotheker seemed confident in his company’s direction into cloud computing and the tablet market. Saying, “R&D is not just measured in dollars,” Apotheker basically defended HP’s slimmer budget since former CEO Mark Hurd famously cut it down. Still, is there really so much to be proud of? With a bigger budget for research, they maybe wouldn’t have had to spend a couple billion to buy Palm’s. They have a ways to go before they can really be considered a giant again. [USA Today]
