McKellen bared his Gandalf underwear—featuring the words “You Shall Not Pass”—during a performance at Only Make Believe’s 14th Annual Gala, “Make Believe On Broadway.” He decided to enact a quick costume change onstage, presumably to show off his choice of brief.
