iBone: The Poor Man’s Bluetooth iPod Hack

We like it when readers take a situation into their own hands. Peta was getting sick of having to always take off his headphones from his iPod when his cellphone rang. Enough was enough, so he bought a Bluetooth headset on the cheap ($9), ripped out the speaker, and added a 3.5mm audio out jack for headphones. Now when a call comes through, he just hits pause on his iPod and speaks while the audio is routed into his headphones. Genius! So simple, yet effective. There are plans to add an automatic pause feature and a charging feature so that the iPod gets charged from the headset’s battery.
