Incredible footage of tiger sharks chowing down on a delicious whale carcass

What happens when a group of hungry sharks discover a meaty hunk of whale carcass ripening in the sun? They chow down on it like a floating, all-you can-eat buffet.

This footage was taken last month near Palm Island off of North Queensland, Australia. From the Townsville Bulletin:

The headless, mostly white-coloured carcass was found in Onion Bay on the south-west side of the island, by local fishermen and has attracted a large pack of sharks to the area.

The Townsville Bulletin […] observed around 10 tiger sharks, some up to four metres in length, lifting their snouts out of the water and ripping huge mouthfuls of blubber off the decomposing carcass.
