New York City Center’s “Encores! Off-Center” summer series will include a limited run (July 1-2) of Alan Menken and Howard Ashman’s brilliant, horror musical, with a new cast including long-time Little Shop legacy Ellen Green, who will once again sing the powerhouse duet anthem “Suddenly Seymour” with her new Seymour, Gyllenhaal. Saturday Night Live’s Tarran Killam will play the evil dentist ex-boyfriend, and Chuck Cooper has been cast as Audrey 2, the bloodthirsty plant with an impressive singing voice). This is fantastic.
