Last month was fucking hot. Seriously, you'd have been wise to follow some of our advice on how to keep cool. But, put into context, it gets crazier. Judging from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's data, I'm surprised we made it.

Last month almost 9,000 daily heat records were broken or tied across the country. This includes 2,755 highest maximum temperatures and 6,171 highest minimum temperatures (nighttime records).
