Get ready for some noodle-armed minifigs: Lego has announced that it’s officially making a series of One Piece sets due to arrive later this year, but perhaps not directly in the way you would’ve expected.
This morning Lego announced that it was partnering with Netflix to develop a series of sets based on the live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s seminal manga series. Little’s known about just what to expect from the sets, other than that we can expect to see them ahead of the return of the Netflix show for season two, which is set to arrive on the streamer some time this year. A short teaser video from Lego also includes Luffy’s iconic hat, and an elongated minifigure arm stretching down to grab it—so maybe we can expect some wild minifigure engineering to give us at least one form of Luffy using his powers to their weirdest ability.

Oda himself is particularly jazzed about the sets, releasing an official statement about the collaboration through the official One Piece social media accounts, alongside new art of Luffy as a Lego minifigure. “Even now, I have dozens of Lego boxes piled in my workplace that I haven’t even had time to dig into,” Oda’s incredibly relatable statement reads in part. “For 25 years since the anime started, I’ve been asking for a lego toy, and finally my dream is being fulfilled with a live-action collection!”.
