Leica's V-Lux 3 isn't a radical departure from the two models before it. It still has a 24x zoom lens which shoots at the equivalent lengths of 25-600mm. But now it can finally record video in 1080p and 60 frames per second using the AVCHD codec.

The V-Lux 3 also has a new sensor, which is a 12.1 megapixel CMOS chip. Strangely, its raw pixel power is down from the 14.1 megapixel rating of the V-Lux 2, but as we all know, pure specs aren't everything. And judging by the fact that the V-Lux 3's 12 photos-per-second burst mode is more powerful than the 11 pps found in the V-Lux 2. The Leica V-Lux 3 will be available beginning in January, at a price that still has yet to be determined (though the last one retailed for nearly $1100). [Leica]
