In the short film ROTOR, a security guard sits in a creepy factory, while small, odd things happen around him. But it’s only when he investigates a mysterious intruder that all of those little oddities come to a head.

Nils Vleugels wrote and Maarten Groen directed ROTOR, which stars Raymond Thiry and was produced by DPPLR. Even if you see the twist coming (and if you’re familiar with ROTOR’s influences, you probably will), it’s a stylish enough movie to sink into and enjoy the ride. And since we know so little about this world and our main character, it’s enticing to wonder what’s going through his head as he endures his purgatorial cycle.

Over at Short of the Week, Groen talks a bit more about his goals and the inspirations behind ROTOR.
