We’ve been drip fed reports about test footage and even gorgeous painted recreations of unreleased trailers, but here is our first official look at Duncan Jones’ Warcraft: The gloriously detailed visage of Orc chieftain Orgrim Doomhammer!
Wired have officially unveiled our first good look at the mindblowing work of Industrial Light and Magic for the film, who created the fearsome Blackrock Orc based on files from World of Warcraft creators Blizzard, and references pictures from the man who’s playing him, Rob Kazinsky. Yes, somewhere under this CGI mass of Orcish muscle is Rob Kazinsky’s face.
But even without the mindboggling attempt to see Kazinsky in the face of the gigantic Orgrim, it’s insane to see the cartoonish artstyle that has come to define the Warcraft series for decades, rendered with painstakingly realistic detail.
Looks like we’re in for a lot of amazing visual eye candy in this movie. Warcraft is due for release June 10, 2016.
