An enthusiastic job posting on Microsoft’s careers site is asking for engineers to help realize their “dream” of frequent, free, “magical” and substantive updates for Windows Mobile phones.

Ars thinks that we probably won’t see this until Windows Mobile 7, as 6.5 is all but completely baked at this point. Simple, useful OS-level updates are something that all mobile OSes should have, but Windows Mobile, with its clunky, rare, paid OS upgrades, needs it more than most. Google and Apple have proven how much loyalty and hype consistent updates can garner, so this is a smart, if obvious, move for Microsoft. [PCWorld via Ars Technica]
