Microsoft Sends Out Weird Press Kit for IE 8 Beta

I got this super weird IE 8 press kit from Microsoft in the mail a little while ago. I don't think the phrase "slicing the web" has ever been used by anybody to refer to browser usage. Anybody. Still, it's a decent effort (even if it is just for IE 8 beta 2 and not the final release), and I can always use more gauze. Seriously, "slice the web"? UPDATE: MeanMF points out that slices are a new feature in IE8.

Being a web interface designer/ [asp.net] developer, I really don't want to see anything proprietary come out of IE8. STANDARDS STANDARDS STANDARDS. I am so tired of IE 6 and 7 and quirks mode that I could stab every member of the IE development team in the face. So, if it's not open source and something every other browser will support naturally, or something that the end user installs themselves and does not rely on the web developer to account for, go ahead. Otherwise, prepare for a stabbed face Microsoft!!!
