New Comic-Con banners celebrate fighting robots

It’s getting REAL down in San Diego. From Avatar, to Tron Legacy, we’ve watched the banners heralding Comic-Con in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter come and go. This year, it’s all about fighting robots.

In the month of July, San Diego becomes more than a beautiful coastal city — it becomes a giant marketing platform where advertisers have learned how to take advantage of every angle. From giant hotel ads to Klingon Trolley Service Signs. The first sign of this massive takeover is always the downtown banners. And already people have started Tweeting pictures of 2011’s banners.
