It’s sort of sad to say this, but I don’t know why Sascha at PC Mag is reviewing the Nokia 5140 when it isn’t offered by a carrier here. That’s not a criticism—it’s just that a lot of the functions of the 5140, like it’s push-to-talk-like functions, won’t work without carrier support. And it’s not exactly a new phone, either, but I have to admit I hadn’t realized how many nifty tricks it had. In addition to the PTT functions, the 5140 has a built-in flashlight, a compass, bubble level, and thermometer, as well as built-in ‘fitness coach’ software. If the PTT and IM functions worked, it might almost be worth the $350.
