Strange things are happening at Pioneer, where yesterday we told you about its plan to drop out of the DVD player business altogether and now we hear the company’s Blu-ray player will be seriously delayed.

Pioneer said the North American launch of its next-generation Blu-ray players will be postponed until this Fall, due to what the company called “a delay in the development process.” That’s a far cry from the June launch date the company previously announced. This can’t be good.
