As excited as I am about Avengers 2, I think Mad Max: Fury Road has a solid chance at being the surprise hit of the year. Its awesomeness comes in large part being a truly modern version of George Miller’s original classic Mad Max movies — as illustrated perfectly in this new international “Legacy” trailer.
Much like Tron: Legacy, I’m boggled that there’s a big-budget sequel to these classic cult movies coming out in this millennium. Unlike Tron: Legacy, I have the suspicion that Mad Max: Fury Road is going to make all our skulls explode from per awesomeness. Hell, I have a hard time getting through the trailers without my jaw hitting the floor — I can’t imagine what it’ll be like to finally see the full movie.
