RIAA Doles Out Legal Fees to Woman They Sued

The RIAA is gonna hafta do some paying out for once, as they’ve been ordered to pay the legal fees of Debbie Foster, a woman they sued for music piracy. After having the case dismissed (with prejudice, no less) last July, the judge went ahead and ordered the RIAA to pay her “reasonable” attorneys fees.

Hopefully this will give the RIAA pause before going after people with litigation. It’s a different ballgame if they need to worry about being the ones paying out the cash rather than the civilians they’re suing, who all obviously can afford to pay a huge conglomerate tens of thousands of dollars.
