Roland Emmerich has written a spec script with Harald Kloser called 2012 which is “apocalyptic.” It was read around Hollywood yesterday and it could start a bidding war among studios today. It’s a sure sign of the coming apocalypse if people are falling over themselves to give the man who butchered Godzilla another project before we find out what he does to Fantastic Voyage. I must admit, however, that I actually enjoyed Emmerich’s The Day After Tomorrow — I hope I don’t have to turn in my io9 ID for that. [Variety]
