The Samsung 40-Inch Class Full HD F6000 Smart TV is a 1080p LED television running Samsung’s One UI Tizen smart platform. The display handles HDR content for expanded contrast between the lightest and darkest parts of a scene, with Mega Contrast adjusting brightness levels automatically based on what’s playing. Object Tracking Sound Lite adds a virtual overhead audio channel that follows on-screen movement for more dimensional sound. Samsung’s Tizen system includes access to over 2,700 free channels through Samsung TV Plus, along with the standard streaming apps, and the TV receives software updates for 7 years from release.
A large TV with an excellent picture and smart features
At 1080p, the 40-inch has enough pixels to remain sharp at a typical viewing distance. PurColor increases the number of colors that can be displayed, allowing for much brighter, fuller, and more lifelike color. HDR extends the range of black and white levels to enhance contrast when viewing compatible content. The TV also has a MegaContrast feature that dynamically adjusts brightness and contrast to enhance contrast between light and dark portions of the picture.
Object Tracking Sound Lite uses the built-in speakers to push audio around the screen. A car moving left to right or a voice from the top of the frame sounds like it comes from that spot, not from one fixed point in the center. The effect shows up more in action scenes and sports than in dialogue-heavy content. Connecting a compatible Samsung soundbar adds Q-Symphony, which keeps the TV speakers running alongside the soundbar so both output sound together.
Streaming apps and the Samsung TV Plus service both run on Samsung’s One UI Tizen platform. TV Plus alone has more than 2,700 free channels, around 400 of them premium, and none require a subscription to watch. Knox Security works in the background, blocking unauthorized apps and phishing attempts with the same system Samsung built for its phones. The TV also gets 7 years of software updates, which keeps the apps and interface from aging out after a couple of years.
The F6000 uses a slim bezel-less design that keeps the frame around the screen thin. Connectivity includes HDMI and USB ports along with an Ethernet jack for wired internet, and the TV supports Wi-Fi for wireless setups. Mobile to TV with Sound Mirroring lets you cast content from a phone to the screen without cables, including streaming video, scrolling through content, or taking video calls on the larger display.
At $148, the F6000 is one of the more affordable smart TVs in Samsung’s 2025 lineup. The built-in Tizen apps and Samsung TV Plus channels mean it works as a standalone streaming setup without an external stick or box, and the 40-inch size fits a bedroom, kitchen, or home office without dominating a smaller room.
